The Joy and Discipline of Ballet

Each student should arrive to class with a classical ballet bun, no hair donuts or ill prepped hair tie buns.

Not sure how to make a hair bun? Watch this tutorial for straight hair, and this tutorial for textured hair.

  • Students should not wear jewelry, including watches and rings to class. Small, pierced earrings are acceptable.

  • All dance clothing must be free of holes and runs.

  • Capezio is our required shoe brand. Certain Bloch styles are acceptable, like the BELLE shoe. No other brands are allowed. Please pay special attention to level shoe requirements. Pointe shoes can be any brand.

What should my child wear?

Pre-Primary Ballet

GIRLS

  • Any color leotard

  • Pink footed tights

  • LUNA Capezio pink ballet shoes. BELLE Bloch are also acceptable. No other shoes allowed.

  • All tights are to be worn in shoes.

  • Hair must be in a neat bun.

  • No jewelry, except for stud earrings.

  • Skirts are optional. 

BOYS

  • White leotard or T-shirt

  • Black shorts or bike shorts

  • LUNA Capezio black ballet shoes.

3-5 year olds

Primary A & B Ballet

GIRLS

  • Black leotard

  • Pink footed tights

  • LUNA Capezio pink ballet shoes. BELLE Bloch are also acceptable. No other shoes allowed.

  • No jewelry, except for stud earrings.

  • Above knee skirts are recommended. 

BOYS

  • White leotard or T-shirt

  • Black shorts or bike shorts

5-7 year olds

  • Classes are taken barefoot, no shoes required.

*It is recommended that students are properly fit for their shoes and purchased at a dance wear store. We recommend En Pointe in Sunrise or Attitude in Coral Springs.
