Our Approach
Performances
We believe performing is vital to a dancer's development. Throughout the season, students are presented with numerous opportunities to refine their performance skills, including performing to live music. Our Pre-Professional Division collaborates with a local youth orchestra to present a concert combining classical baroque music and ballet.
Bi-Annual Juries
During each season, every PPD dancer, accompanied by a parent, is invited to meet with faculty to assess their progress. These sessions are thoughtfully designed to evaluate skills, provide constructive feedback for improvement, and prepare students for future professional pursuits.
Audition Photos
Each season, PPD dancers participate in a photography session with the award winning dance photographer, Mark Schermeister, to capture their headshots and any additional photos needed for auditions.
Comprehensive Approach
We embrace a holistic approach to training. PPD dancers consult with Dr. Audrey, a former dancer and talented physical therapist, on a weekly basis for guidance and education regarding any concerns.
